Skills, Inc. is an Aerospace Manufacturing and Finishing company that manufactures and processes aerospace parts. We are a self-supporting social enterprise organized as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit with four lines of business. This position involves performing visual and dimensional inspection of incoming raw materials, time/temperature sensitive materials, hardware and in-process parts for quality workmanship, appearance and conformity to applicable specifications and standards. It also involves reviewing accompanying documentation for accuracy and completeness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proficient in basic drawing/specification interpretation.
Be able to make basic interpretations of customer specifications and requirements as they relate to materials/product received.
Performs inspection of purchased parts, materials, components and equipment as materials are received from vendors or subcontractors.
Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
Inspect product for conformance (condition, configuration. Etc.)
Have a working knowledge of AS9100
Research certifications and/or test reports of incoming raw materials/in-process product for conformance.
Have effective communication and organizational skills.
Initiate rejection tags as necessary.
Determine tools required for relevant inspection
Inspect, adjust, and verify accuracy of gauges and measuring instruments
Participate in customer inquiries as directed
Ability to multitask

U.S. Person Status Required due to Export Control
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer literacy in Windows and MS Office.
Ability to read work instructions and procedures in English.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to interpret specs and drawings and recognize when parts are out of specification.
Knowledge of and ability to use basic measuring equipment to inspect parts.
Excellent visual acuity required including close vision.
Ability to move around the shop as needed to inspect work as required.
Ability to work in indoor production environment with occasional exposure to chemical smells.
Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
